what is a camera hood adaptor and what does it do?
I have the option of getting one for my Ricoh gx200, but i'm not sure exactly what it does. I'm new to photography.
It is an adapter you can use to attach a lens hood if you wish. Many times light that strikes the lens from the side will cause lens flare. Having a hood reduces that possibility.
If it has filter threads, you can later use it to mount a polarizing lens on your camera if you so choose
